She began her engagement with social work from the urban slums of Ahmedabad city. She founded Kadam Education Trust (KET) and continues to lead the organization to this day. With over two decades of experience, she has focused on community health, child rights and protection, violence against women, and the empowerment of adolescent girls. Her work has centered on peacebuilding in conflict situations, the protection and education of children—especially girls who face hazardous labor and abuse—and empowering marginalized communities. Meera’s dedication to addressing the challenges faced by children and youth in unstable environments aligns with KET’s mission of providing life skills, counseling, and educational support. Since 2014, she has also been mentoring new leadership within KET, ensuring the sustainability and continued growth of the organization’s impactful work.
